Police in Selayang is currently investigating a case under Section 31 (1) (a) of the Child Act 2001, Bernama reported today, 7 July
In its report today, Bernama quoted Gombak police chief Assistant Commissioner (ACP) Samsor Maarof saying that they initiated the investigation after receiving a report about a baby girl's death from a medical officer at the Selayang Hospital.

The two-year-old girl was admitted in an unconscious state after allegedly choking on a slice of bread at a babysitter's house
She was brought to the hospital at about 10am on Monday from the babysitter's house in Selayang, ACP Samsor told Bernama.
"At the emergency ward, the medical officer found a piece of bread during the resuscitation process," he was quoted as saying.

She died on Thursday, four days after she was admitted
"The victim was pronounced dead at the hospital at 10.39am on Thursday," ACP Samsor said, adding that a post-mortem revealed that the girl died of "hypoxic-ischaemic encephalopathy" (HIE) with multiple organ failure.
